The PIC development board based on PIC16F877A is designed to suit all the application needs for Development, Training, and prototyping. The board is compatible with variety of chips in pic16 series. The board includes memory, display and input interfaces for meeting all the embedded application requirements.

The onboard interfaces includes SD CARD, External EEPROM,GLCD port. The QuickInsert Board interface with wide variety of modules is provided for rapid prototyping.

The compact design is provided with a modular structure for ease of operation and better understanding of the circuits. The interfaces can be isolated using switches and jumpers. Plenty of supporting materials and video tutorials with demonstration for all the PIC interfaces on the PIC Development Board are available.

General Modules

SD Card

The High quality micro SD card slot extends the memory for the controller in high end projects . SPI protocol is used to communicate with the SD card and a 3.3.v level shifter is provided for logic level conversion. The sd card inputs can be selected and deselected using four jumpers.

Real Time Clock (RTC DS1307)

The low power DS1307 Real Time Clock module with fully binary coded decimal(BCD) clock/calendar and having 56 bytes of NV SRAM is interfaced with the controller. I2C communication protocol Is used to communicate with the I2C module. The module counts Seconds, Minutes, Hours, Date of the Month, Month, Day of the Week, and Year with Leap-Year Compensation.

 7 Segment Display

Four seven segment display modules for displaying 4 digit numerical values 0-9999. Port multiplexing method is used to save the usage of ports. The individual module can be controlled using control port and the data port connects the controller port to the 7segment. the data and control port pins can be controlled using the two switches provided near to it.

Keypad 4X4 matrix

Matrix keypad features 16 inputs to the host microcontroller using 8bit I/O port. 4×4 matrix keypad (16 keys)with 8 pins connects to the microcontroller. The rows of the keyboard can be pulled up to VCC or pulled down to the ground with single jumper connector.

Led Array

The eight SMD led are interfaced to the default controller port. The led can be selected and deselected from the port using the switch.


Atmel AT24C16A electrically erasable and programmable read-only memory (EEPROM provides additional 16K memory to the PIC microcontroller. I2c protocol is used to communicate with the host controller. It is internally organized with 128 pages of 16 bytes. Two jumpers are provided to select the SCL and SCK lines.

LCD 16×2

The LCD Module is Capable of displaying 2 lines of 16 characters each. The data and control port are available near the module and two switches are provided to control the port pins. The intensity Can be adjusted using the contrast control POT.

128×64 Graphic LCD PORT

128×64 pixels graphical LCD port is available near the LCD port .The user can optionally purchase the GLCD Module and it can be Easily interfaced with the controller using the GLCD port. The LCD control port and data port s Shared with the GLCD. LCD contrast control optimizes the intensity of display for better visual experience

Serial Communication

The interface establishes serial communication with the host controller in the desired baud rate. The max 232 level translator is used to convert TTL to RS232 Logic levels. The UART to USB converted output is available through USB type B connector.

Quick Insert Interface

The Board Functionality can be extended further by utilizing the quick insert boards and it speeds up the prototyping . The wide range of carefully designed quick insert boards including IOT modules, sensors and wireless modules are available from the store.
